Termite Control and Prevention
Georgia is one of the states at the highest risk from termites. These little insects, often misidentified as ants, usually go undetected by homeowners until they have caused so much damage that their presence becomes obvious. Termites damages cost U.S. homeowners over $2.5 billion every year; the structural damage they can cause can cost up to half the value of the home! Adding to the financial toll, most homeowners' insurance policies do not cover termite damage repair.
Solitude can prevent a termite nightmare from happening to you. We protect homes using both liquid barrier and baiting systems, and all of our treatments are bonded.
If you're seeing termite swarmers or workers, discarded wings on the ground outside of your home, mud tubes on the exterior walls, cracked or bubbling paint, or wood that sounds as though it's been hollowed out, you probably have or are about to have a termite problem. Contact us immediately!
Termite Service Description
Solitude offers two types of termite treatment, baiting stations and liquid barrier. While baiting stations are usually sufficient for newer homes, and homes currently without termites, the liquid barrier treatment is the most effective way to prevent termite infestation.
If you choose our baiting system, Solitude's trained and certified technicians will place bait stations around the perimeter of your home, one every 4-5 feet. These bait stations contain wood that has been treated to attract termites, then kill them when they share it with the rest of the colony. Baiting treatments are only eligible for re-treatment warranties.
With our liquid barrier treatments, we will dig a small trench around the perimeter of your home and fill it with non-repellant termicide. We will also drill into the concrete portions around the house, driveway, patio, etc. and inject the termicide, then cap the holes. It is important to use non-repellant termicides because we want the termites to move through it, not go under it, so that they pick it up on their bodies, spread it through the colony, and die. Liquid barrier treatments are available with re-treatment warranties and, in some cases, re-treatment and repair warranties. Please contact us for details.
All Solitude termite treatments come with a re-treatment warranty. If at anytime after your home is treated termites are detected, we will take steps to remove the treatments from the affected area, and to prevent their return. Repair warranties are also available; please contact us for more information.
Termite elimination after the first treatment may take up to several months, depending upon the size and number of termite colonies present prior to treatment, termite-conducive conditions, the treatment method used, etc. Termites may cause damage during this time; Solitude is not responsible for this damage, or for damage present prior to the beginning of service. (Full written warranty is available upon request.)
It is important to ensure that any structural damages resulting from fire, structural defects, or mechanical defects, which result in water leakage in interior areas, through the walls or roof, be repaired. Water leakage/build-up can destroy or reduce the effectiveness of the applied treatment(s), and permit infestation to continue. (Full written warranty is available upon request.)
